Crypto currencies continue their slide towards utter worthlessness … at least for now.
As tech stocks slide, crypto prices continue their downward march: The price of bitcoin briefly fell as low as $4,100 on Tuesday, a far cry from the $6,500 level it had been trading at just a few weeks ago. Meanwhile, the Justice Department is investigating whether bitcoin’s rise last year was fueled partly by market manipulation, and the SEC has ramped up its enforcement of crypto companies. It seems that the SEC enforcement actions, coupled with Bitcoin Cash’s ongoing split (both Bitcoin ABC and Bitcoin SV are still being traded), put additional pressure on crypto prices.

Once the label is released, the FDA says you should only buy lettuce with the new label (there is no example of the label yet).

Latest effort: Spin Schumer’s floating of an agreement from earlier this year for $1.6B that would go to border security as his “bending” to Donny’s demand for money for the Wall. And Schumer is not only sticking to that, he’s now tacking on the condition that if the funding is to be approved, it has to be as part of a larger bill such as the one to protect Mueller.
The problem with using people like D&S & Not Joe is they don’t really say much. They’re cynical political props to make an elitist and racist party seem what they’re not. They’re used especially D&S to be “Hey they can’t be racist or classist, these two support them.” I wonder what someone like Michael Steele thinks of them. Schumer’s got $1.6 billion for a wall in his pocket, but it’s got the poison pill provision the GOP wont want - namely protect Mueller. 2018- Wicker won 58-39 (a 19 point margin).
2014 - Cochrane won 59-38 (21 point margin).
2012 - Wicker won 57-40 (17 point margin).
2008 - Cochrane won 61-39 (22 point margin).
Last night, Espy lost 54-46, meaning that Hyde-Smith won by… 8 points.
That’s in a state that went hard for Trump. 58-40 (18 points).

And in 2020 it’s the Republicans which face a bad Senate map (though not as bad as the Democrats this time round), plus two more years of a loose cannon in the White House they are tied to being dragged round the deck.
I’m not much of a political pundit or politician (or I’d have won my reëlection), but 2020 looks pretty good. The GOP is stuck in the position they were with Nixon: When to cut away to try to save their seats.
I can’t speak for other red states, but here the Democrats put up more candidates at all levels of governance than we ever have. We put up a record number of women. In my deep red county, the other two Democrats running for office, both women (a school board on the other side of the county) won and ousted two Republican men.
The trick here is to remind ranchers and farmers that their agricultural woes are not the cause of migrants a thousand miles away, but the trade policies they voted for. Small businesses in the area need the message that those tariffs are hurting and not helping. (I don’t want to see a bad holiday shopping season here but I fully expect one.)

The apocryphal quote of “let them eat cake” comes to mind. While the general sentiment (in keeping with the revolutionary mindset) has always been that she was showing disdain for the plight of the poor, there’s a growing argument in modern times that Antoinette simply did not understand the situation and thought the poor lacked bread due to shortages rather than being unable to afford such.

This was backroom politics, that’s all it ever really was. Ryan and Moulton had no real chance of unseating her, they were hoping to somehow build enough leverage to get committee chairs or even leadership chairs for her in exchange for dropping their opposition. Look for a lot of “symbolic” votes today, mostly the new Blue Dog Caucus looking to keep campaign promises not to support her for Speaker.
I think both did it as a display to the voters in there districts. It was theater for the Pelosi haters. They can say they gave it their best, vote for me again in two years so we can get her out then (knowing she will probably not want the chair and gavel then).

I called about that job offer mailing to be a water system instructor for the state, enquiring about my epilepsy and the minimum time required for a license.
They told me the epilepsy could be waived, but the time holding a license cannot. So, I’m still not sure why they sent me the offer. The time I have had a license is on the state license-holder Website.
Sounds like someone in your local government knowing how you took responsibility for the town’s water system gave them your name anonymously.

Suckers bought into the lies spread by those who claimed that Brexit would somehow benefit NHS and the Brits - giving them some amorphous sovereignty that they’ve otherwise lacked as a part of the EU.
Turns out that the only ones who benefit from Brexit aren’t in the UK or EU.
They’re in Russia as they watch the EU torn apart and the parts are less capable than the whole. The UK economy is far worse off than if it remained.
All this inertia to try and go to Brexit is because the proponents have nothing else. If they admit failure, they’re tossed out on their ear (they should be). Going forward, they should be tossed out anyways. Nothing they’re doing supports a strong UK. It shows that they are so much like Trump in being economically illiterate and incapable of accepting basic facts.
The UK will be worse off no matter how the UK leaves the EU. The only question is how bad it will be (and it will be pretty bad).

If that prevents Trump from being re-elected, I’m all for a splintering of the GOP in 2020. I do hear you about Kasich though. You know him perhaps the best of anyone I know and I trust your political instincts. Kasich gets way too much credit. Nancy’s older brother was mayor of Baltimore too. The right tried to shame Pelosi by pointing out that Mayor D’Alessandro dedicated a Lee statue which is stupid given that Lee’s own direct descendant has called out the statues. Here is something interesting that I didn’t know though: Compare that with Trump’s father.
D’Alesandro was then elected to the 76th Congress and to the four succeeding Congresses, serving from January 3, 1939, until he resigned on May 16, 1947. While in Congress, D’Alesandro strongly supported the Bergson Group, a “political action committee set up to that challenged the Roosevelt Administration’s policies on the Jewish refugee issue during the Holocaust, and later lobbied against British control of Palestine” despite his equally strong support for Roosevelt’s other policies.[2]

Attorneys for Yazmin Juarez submitted the claim against multiple agencies Tuesday. Juarez’s 1-year-old daughter, Mariee, died in May.
Juarez’s lawyers said Mariee developed a respiratory illness while she and her mother were detained at the South Texas Family Residential Center in Dilley, Texas. They accused U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement of releasing the pair while Mariee was still sick.
The girl died six weeks later in Philadelphia.
Washington-based law firm Arnold & Porter said it will file a lawsuit if the government doesn’t settle its claim. R. Stanton Jones, a lawyer at the firm, said the government has six months to respond before his firm can file suit.
“Having made the decision to jail small children, the U.S. government is responsible to provide living conditions that are safe, sanitary and appropriate,” Jones said.
ICE and other agencies listed in the claim said they wouldn’t comment on pending litigation.
Jones has also submitted a $40 million claim against the city of Eloy, Arizona, which officially operated the Dilley detention facility under a “pass-through” agreement with ICE and the private prison company CoreCivic. ICE and CoreCivic replaced its agreement with Eloy in September with an arrangement made with the city of Dilley.
Advocates have long complained that medical care in Dilley is substandard and that detaining families damages their mental health. ICE has defended the care it provides at Dilley, saying detainees have access to medical professionals.

I look back at the 2016 primary and I really feel it woke me up to the fact that sexism is prevalent throughout the spectrum. They need a lot of space, the rider has to spend 5 or 6 hours every day with the animal so people who need to earn a living will never be able to do it, and that saying “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”? They eat a LOT. And none of it’s budget-price.

Georgina Bloomberg and Jessica Springsteen are champion show-jumpers (or maybe I should say… riders of champion horses). It’s a super-expensive sport, and somewhat unfair that the riders (who also put up the money) get all the credit when it’s really the trainers and horses whose talents deserve the acclaim, but so it goes.
Part of what makes it so expensive (besides that just buying the horse in the first place is six figures minimum, some of the yearlings from champion lineage go for seven figures at auction) — is that the horse needs 5 or 6 years of training before they can even qualify for their first competition. They need a lot of space, the rider has to spend 5 or 6 hours every day with the animal so people who need to earn a living will never be able to do it, and that saying “don’t look a gift horse in the mouth”? They eat a LOT. And none of it’s budget-price.
Georgina can afford to keep the ponies happy: Dad is said to be worth somewhere north of $50 Billion: and unlike a certain President we all (unfortunately) know, it’s all in fairly solid assets.

Buildings he owns are far more limited - mostly in NYC - from Trump Tower and Trump Village (middle class apartments). His so-called luxury offerings like Trump tower are long in the tooth and no longer prized addresses especially when billionaire’s row has 30-50 million dollar condos available with views from over 1,000 feet up in the sky.

I try to find the news source closest to where it’s happening. Go direct to local news outlets, like when there are mass shootings in places like San Bernardino or Aurora or Las Vegas. Then look for their twitter feeds.
It’s as though there’s a progression for where/how to get reliable info. FB is at the ass end of that space.
